Ideals OnWheels

I was born in 1970 with a disability called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. It has weakened my muscles through out my body my entire life, slowly worsening with age. Since childhood I have sought linkages between my predicaments that seem to stem from my disability and other peoples' predicaments that stem from being human. I have alway tried to help others just as much as they help me-- a lot. I am a constant student but not matriculating, work in public policy, and love God. Courage is change.

The internet has empowered us to be kind to strangers in everyday life. Though separated by thousands of miles, I can help a stranger who is going through a dark night of the soul by offering a point of view and some compassionate words. The two hours I spent helping this stranger by writing this essay gave me as much satisfaction as any other volunteer work I do.
