All pets are special. Pet owners know that. Pet owners also know that sometimes the end  is
very difficult for not only the pet but for family and friends who feel that excruiating pain that there seems to be no medicine to bring relief. Only a special combination of tears and prayers and memories. Best to remember your pet for the happy and wonderful moments. Pets get old. Pets pass away. And during the often short time they are here they deserve the same kindness and courtesy we show to loved ones. After all, they are part of the family, often a big part. And they command attention. Act silly. Make a mess. Cuddle. Matter of fact they are loved ones. If not, should be. They can teach us something about love, about unconditional love each time, each moment they meet and greet their master at the door. And sometimes we do not reciprocate. Too busy. More important things. And then one day, in a quiet way, they leave us. And in so leaving hope to remind us that they too, belonged in our home, wanted and needed the safety and love and warmth just as we expect our homes to provide these elements for ourselves. Pets are the loved ones and do not ask for much more than a gentle nudge, a friendly tone and some nourishment. Not a difficult task. Manageable. But remember, the end result is a friend so unique, so special - that in a spirtual sort of way they remain in touch with us -long after they are gone.

Make this Christmas special for your pet. Show a little extra love and care and your rewards will be truly wonderful, as there is nothing more special than the reciprocal love of a family pet.

And like our Sandy, the beloved pets do not rage into the night but go gentle, with the gentle hand that helped guide their short life in the first place and somewhere in doggie heaven I know Sandy that we will meet again some day....and you dear pet owners shall meet and greet your favorite pet one day, rest assured.....
