Walter Brennan was an incredible narrative-singer and actor. Most of us might tend to remember him for songs like Old Shep and Old Rivers...

But Walter, going from school to working in a bank to serving in the U.S. Army, growing pineapples in Guatemala to making a fortune in
real estate and losing it during the great depression during the 20's. And then seeking fame and fortune as a unique type of actor, thinning hair, just a few teeth, thin build and gravely voice...all made him
a popular character in what was eventually some
230 film and television parts, often playing the same type of character he would sing about later.
He basically used his physical features to great effect.

And today, we remember you Walter, for the sad
narrative ballads to some of your excellent acting.

For those of you, like myself, who truly love the old western movies, take note that Walter Brennan
was in 1970 inducted into the  Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy and  Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma where his photo adorns a wall.

You will always be a real treasure and continue to bring tears to our eyes with some of your great songs Walter.....we do miss you....
