Here is a glimpse of professionalism at its finest and it comes from a young band called 100 Mile House out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Young musicians Scott Zubot, Peter Stone, Denise
MacKay, Tom Murray and Tyrn Armstrong are
at the forefront, but have brought in the 100 Mile House Choir for track 1, also Mark Sazavsky on
Trombone, and Matthieu Damer on Cello for two
of the tracks. So its no surprise this band has been
nominated for music awards as well as having been
invited to perform at this years Calgary Folk Fest.
Still playing small venues such as Kitscoty.

Funny, when I met Scott he was looking up at a leaky roof, but the sun was shining that day as we talked on his front porch. There is no doubt in my mind the sun shall continue to shine bright for this youthful band. Perhaps a tinge of Blue Rodeo on one of the cuts but mostly a prairie band with a totally unique sound.  I liked the almost sad feeling of time and space that often lingers over the prairie and certainly finds its moments on this CD.
And songwriters Peter Stone and Denise MacKay most certainly found that edge you need with good songwriting and they wrote all this songs of this stunningly beautiful CD.
From the tune Better Still, the words - and there must be something to hang onto - indeed something to hold onto with every track. Plain and simple
excellence.  Better Still features the haunting alto
Trombone of Mark Sazavsky, not to forget Matthieu Damer with his cello on tracks 3,6,7 & 9.
Then there is the mystical violin of Scott Zubot.
You will get your feet moving and your heart pounding with one or two rousing tracks.  Enough said. Just get the CD. Its Hollow Ponds with the band 100 Mile House.

And you will be BETTER STILL and richer
with this CD in your collection. We listen to words about God and family and youth and change...music and musicians taking us on a journey...a journey you don't want to miss!!
