And there were many. The 1957 (2 door) Buick hardtop convertible, our l967 Volkswagon Beetle,
the 1952 Pontiac, my 1968 (black) Fiat, the old 76
Dodge Truck with incredible roll bars.  And many
others, like the Dodge Dart, the red l967 Valiant,
but why this love for cars and trucks?

Its something we grew up with, sharing stories about old wrecks and nice shiny cars. Leather seats and a place to cuddle with the first, second or maybe third girlfriend...it was a place for the guys to pack in and head for the A & W. Only to find the souped up whatchamacalit  parked two rows down was even nicer....ah, the days of growing up and learning to drive, and learning that you had to put in gas and oil or you ended up pushing the jalopy down the road as friends drove by laughing and hollering. Damn.  Its not fair...

And it was a time to learn, indeed, many things were not fair. It was about what you could afford,
the deal you might have gotten from an uncle or brother or friend.

Memories of going out hiking with brother Ted and a friend of mine, coming back or should that be limping back into the city with four flat tires. Yes,
that was nothing new...used bald tires and radiators that liked to blow off steam at the worst times and places. Old cars. Good times. Memories....

Now, do you suppose it would be a good buy...to save up for a nice sporty Lamborghini Aventador
which sells for a cool $412,015. Lets make that:
LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR LP700-4,
two door, 6.5 liter V-12, 4 wheel drive, 0-60 MPH
in 3.0 seconds?

Ah, sure the Ferrari 599 and Lexus LFA are cheaper....but you gotta admit...even given the chance to test drive this Lamborghini would be
a memory to last a life time...to buy it? - maybe
if you won a big enough lottery and had a garage complete with security system and guard dogs.
Then again, $149 to fill up and 11 mpg? Hmmm
