No doubt Scientists are doing good daily, presenting each and everyone of us with exciting discoveries...

One such study (PET) - A Method of Positron Emission Topography - or more simply put, a method that detects Dementia including the most common and devastating form among the elderly
which we know as Alzheimers disease. This information comes from the January issue of
Nuclear Medicine.

Bottom line - this gives clinicians information to make accurate diagnoses earlier than before.

We have all read stories about singer Glenn Campbell and the fact that Glenn is suffering from
Dementia. We are told - Dementia is not a specific illness but a pattern of symptoms characterized by
a loss of cognitive ability. And further, from
Science Daily News we are informed that while
Alzheimers Disease is commonly associated with
progressive memory impairment, Dementia with
Lewy Bodies, another form of the disease can be
associated with symptoms of Parkinsons and prominent hallucinations, while yet another disorder called frontotemporal dementia can be seen in patients showing  uncharacteristic personality changes and difficulties in relating and communicating.

And this provides you with just a hint of the dynamics of Scientific discovery that shall no doubt contribute to the betterment of our lives, as we age.
