It started out as an ordinary Saturday, going into the garage to
look for something or other. As it happens, a moment of reality
stopped me in my tracks. I started to really look at the interior
of the garage with some concern. There was stuff there that did
not need to be there. Some collectibles (good for someone I once
thought??) and pieces of lumber that I might (or might not use)
bits and pieces of metal that somehow found there way into the
garage. Yes, a moment of inspiration. Time to focus on getting rid
of lots of this stuff. What was the point of hanging onto it any longer?

But many of us do that. We pick up. We hold on. We hope. Just
maybe the next day or the next day and we will find use for this
or for that. But guess what, some of this stuff has sat here for
years. So that was my point. That was my thought. End days for
part time rat packer. Time to move  on. Move it out. Clear it out.
Throw it out. Give some away. Just - get it outa there!!!

And it felt good afterwards. More room. And the realization
that holding on is not always the answer. It becomes clutter and
clutter slows down the thinking process so I am told.

So next time you go into your basement or out to your garage,
just give all the stuff a good look. And ask yourself: Do I need this? Do I really need this. And you might surprise yourself of what the answer is....
