I don't think its a question of being negative or positive as
the world turns, but realistic.  You get the feeling out there,
as Bob Dylan once wrote - that a hard rain is gonna fall -

You cannot help but notice politicians talking about some
restraint. Buy this. Don't buy that. Take this. Don't take that.
You start to get the feeling of something strange lurking
around the corner. And just maybe its the fact we are more
than ever living in somewhat strange times.  From the onset
of 9/11 through to some of the stressed out individuals who
have been doing some awful things. Some say its a sign of
the beginning of the end. Others say to read the bible and
that will tell you.

So what is the fix for all of this?  Must we cut back even more
than we have cut back say a year ago. Must we park our cars
and use bicycles, public transit or simply walk? Will the
looming food shortages start to impact on everyone? Are we
looking at some carnage from the onslaught of yet another storm or are facing the dread of having to survive yet another
super bug?  Yes indeed, many many questions. And I doubt
that even the most articulate politicians have the answers!?

Has it something to do with the stars? the recent eclipse?
So yes, perhaps a hard rain is gonna fall.  Maybe we ought
to adjust our thinking and lifestyle to (quote another song)-
one day at a time.

That was something Mom always talked about, when we were
kids - the need to live one day at a time.

After all, what is past is past. There is no certainty about the
future. So that pretty much leaves us with trying our best
to deal with - today.

One day at a time, indeed.
