On one hand you have a technology that allows P2P (peer to peer) file sharing while saving bandwith (the bit torrent protocol) wheras the technology is actually used a great deal. It seems complicated but is very simple, that is, simple enough that folks turn on their computer, google up utorrent and download the utorrent program.
Having done that, the next step is usually to go to Pirate Bay or a similar website (utilizing the torrent file sharing process) and
quite simply download virtually any movie, even some not yet
released. BUT HERE IS THE CRUNCH....
ITS THE DOWNLOADING AND SHARING OF THE MATERIAL THATS ILLEGAL AND THAT GETS PEOPLE
IN TROUBLE.  Remember that magic word - COPYRIGHT.

A further word to the wise, CHECK OUT THE DIGITAL MILLENNIUM COPYRIGHT ACT!!!

Currently Canadians appear exempt from legal issues, but that could
change very soon.  Because, both the motion picture industry and the music recording industry are starting to file class action lawsuits.
The lawsuits involve, naturally, copyright infringement. And yes
remember,  fines could be in the thousands. So is it worth it? Is it
worth the risk?

It all starts with your very own Internet Provider - providing your
IP address and the nature of your activity. Napster was an example.

So why the prolifferation of supposedly illegal sites amidst all the
controversy and threats of legal and other action. Remember your
internet provider has their own guidelines, which you should be
familiar with. The power they have is extraordinary in itself.

Could it be the internet itself is as guilty as those who download
from it - the very fact its allowing doors to be opened to these various sites and almost encourages illegal activity if viewed that
way.The candy store awaits. The horse is out of the barn and now
long after the fact, the round-up has begun.

One fellow named Ernesto makes his articles available via e.mail.
You just need to email Ernesto at ernesto@torrentfreak.com
and he sends along his information and its quite interesting.

Then, there are high profile people and companies who believe
video stores are going the way of the dinasaur and the future to
all your songs, movies, t.v. shall come through your computer.
Very curious, this whole mess!!

People need to definitely educate themselves on these issues
lest members of  a family take certain liberties and find they
are in trouble. It would probably be prudent of internet providers
to share information about all the areas that lead to trouble.
But for the most part internet providers only acknowledge all the
rules of the game after the fact. Even though its available beforehand.

Remember, the internet lures big people, just like kids in a candy store. The temptations are there.

Jim Finkle (out of Boston) has written about the software programs
used to share pirated music and video.  The burning question being:
Is this very notorious pirate activity being given the green light for
commercial use?

I guess we shall have to wait and see (especially those who have already downloaded one or more movies - to determine how this all
unravels in the courts of our nation, in the near future and what the
real price is going to be - just when we thought it was all free.
Think again. Get educated. Study up and then ultimately ask yourself if what you are about to do shall produce a net gain or a net loss.
Guess its up to you.
