Standing on the weigh scale the other day I realized that much of my
sedantary activity was catching up to me. Not that I am extremely
overweight but even a little overweight needs to be looked at. In my case much of it comes from trucking. Thats the sitting and the driving.

Reading about the fitness of such folks as those who perform in
Cirque du Soleil made me think seriously of simple things that help,
keeping in mind I don't plan to join those incredible performers
who literally risk life and limb with every show. Not that they
have contacted me to join the team. I'm just not that energized to
leap through the air or for that matter even get into those death
defying acrobatics. No thanks. But admire them - I do...

Interesting to take note that these performers start with a lot of
stretching excercises. Gosh,I can do that. And cardiovascular
activity such as working out on a stationary bike. Hey, I can do
that as well. And so can you.

So what are we waiting for when age and weight combine to make
us look less than what we can be. I mean, that mirror does not tell
a lie. I stand in front of that mirror sideways. Hmm. Get the picture.
So yes, gotta get on that  stationary bike. Got to take the pooch on
more walks. Got to stretch. And what about push-ups and the rest of
it. Say, I think I just talked myself into doing something about the
extra pounds I don' need. And what about you? What are your plans
for a little working out over the winter?  Trust me, we all need the
little extra bit of huffing and puffing. And I'm not talking about
smoking here, rather about the little extra it will take - to get fit.
Join me. What are we waiting for?
