Today was the first day that I did not flush the toilet. LOL. I know, that sounds so ridiculous! But seriously, I was watching Jay Leno the other night and Carmen Diaz was on and Jay was pestering her about how green she was and he finally asked her straight up, 'Do you flush?'.

I was surprised by her answer but it really made sense. She said, "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down."

Hmm. lol.

So the next day I tried it, but it was difficult because it is such an automatic habit to just flush. It was also hard because, seriously, it's freakin' weird to leave urine in the bowl, then going to pee the next time and seeing that urine in the bowl.

So my first day of letting my yellow mellow was rough, but today got better. In order to break the habit of flushing and not get grossed out by the urine in the bowl I peed with the lights off. I mean, i could see what I was doing, but I couldn't really see what was in the bowl.

Anyway, this is a weird blog post but this is really important stuff. Not flushing throughout the day made me realize just how much water we waste every time we go to the bathroom.

I also heard other tricks like putting a full gallon of water in the tank so that it fills up quicker and thus the water shuts off quicker.

Anyone else have any potty ideas for getting green?
