Even though ~there is an abundanceof new technology and products~ available now a days ~ the older traditional crafts appear to be a lost art ~
Years ago~ *needlepoint and embroidery *were so very common ~and seemed to be found ~in many households as a hobby for many women~
Of course it requiredGood eyesight to be able to keep up with the precise counting~ and then of course patience~
I suppose~ with the times and the economy as well ~mainly ~ women dont have ~**the time **~with two people working in each family~ and raising children~ and thier activities ~ needle point doesnt hold an important spot in thier lives~
I went to a garage sale not too long ago ~and purchased the most beautiful *Framed piece of needlework* for next to nothing ~ I am sure ~that some one put in many many long hours of work into it ~ It is just gorgeous~
So maybe it is the right time to acquire some lovely pieces of that type of craft ~if you enjoy it as i do ~
I think that the younger generation is probably into other types maybe *Abstract * art of whatever is out there now~ It just makes me a little sad to think of how much love was put into these things and tossed aside~But times change and so do values i suppose......
