Why do we often wait for things to become uncomfortable before we change?

Like today, for instance....the mound of laundry on my bed was ridiculous!  Yet, for the past few days, I've tried to sleep with all of the laundry at the foot of my bed.  WHY?  It would be so much more simple to just put it away!...Not to mention how much more COMFORTABLE I would be while I was sleeping!

But, I did it because I HATE laundry!

Same thing with my weight...I took for granted the fact that I used to be fit...I just assumed that I would stay that way.  So, why didn't I just continue to stay fit & exercise?  Because I hated the two things that would help me the most...cardio & abs.

But, now they're the two things that I do everyday, and honestly, they're not that bad.

It could be because I'm getting stronger...it could also be because my perspective has changed.

Instead of sitting back & complaining about my weight (while I watch slim, fit women walk past me)...I'm taking charge!  And, I'm not looking at exercise as the enemy anymore...the pain producer.  Instead, I look at it as therapeutic & wonderful...a good pain.  When I'm sore from my workout, I know that I'm working my muscles & that they're still there :o)

"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever." ~Lance Armstrong

My new perspective is really a wonderful & healthy one!  Now, if I could just get as passionate about laundry :o)
