Listening Ear

I have been visiting patients as a pastoral care volunteer in a hospital  for the last 5 years. So many people, so many struggling with illness. Some have been able to overcome, some have succumbed. I leave each week and am thankful that I am able to do so. It has changed my perspective- I have little tolerance anymore for people who complain about such insignificant things in their lives, when there are people I visit fighting for their lives. So many have shown such strength and courage.
