"I finally put it back on their lap where it belonged and I no longer carried it. " --if you really no longer carry it (I would think this means it doesn't enter your mind for more than 15 minutes a week or something like that), then you've won... that's how I see it anyways.

It's all about closure, forgiveness is just a means to this end. So it can't always be demanded, THEY have to get closure for themselves, which comes down to accepting, learning from, and eventually transcending what they did. Although I get a sense they won't achieve this and will suffer with it forever.

Good stuff, I subscribed to your articles I think, but this website's subscribe RSS makes it unclear whether it subscribed to you or to all the website's articles. Anyways, if there's another way to subscribe or you write somewhere else I'd love it if you let me know my email is jaimiec.montague--at--gmail--dot--com

And hopefully those who have wronged us and we all carry a black book of names and events we would rather forget - but life the great teacher in time deals with each individual. There is a price. And a hard lesson. But
its there. Good one. Keep up the writing....
