I am in college and I had to choose a song, poem, or essay to write my own analytical essay about. I chose "Man in the Mirror". I feel that this is one of the most inspirational songs ever released. Kudos to M.J. We will all miss you very much! God bless, and I hope you are now finally at peace. You could not be in a better place. Thank you for your influence and love.

I literally cried quite a lot when Michael Jackson died. I loved his music soooooo very much. He was the most talented singer & dancer who ever lived, in my opinion. I even went to our town's memorial of him. God bless him & rest his soul.

Thank you for writing that! Not only should we properly and FAIRLY accredit him now, we SHOULD have done that when he was with us! Negativity begets negativity x 2, right? And so on, and so on......This applies to everything...We should have been fair with him, AND we should have been fair with the other people who WERE NOT famous, AND we should be fair with the famous and non-famous people who are still alive...Why should people get more love AFTER they die? That makes NO sense...Why not now? Remember that @ the grocery store, in the parking lot, AND NOT IN the parking lot.....

Whether you were a big fan or not you would have to have lived your life on another planet not to know who this man was. And yet, like many people that are in the public eye he paid the ultimate price for that fame. I have really strong feelings about how we treat people in the public eye. Its like we hound them put them on a pedestal, then pull them down, ridicule them, adore them, worship them and ultimately destroy them. Well the media destroy them. But they only do that because the public feed on any information they can have have about these people. As members of the public I think everyone needs to take reponsibility to respect people's privacy. If we did that, the papers wouldn't hound people and fragile souls like MJ, and Princess Di, wouldn't end up dead before their time. In the Victorian times in England families would go to mental hospitals to look at the mad people as a form of entertainment. Like a zoo. Are we any different when we devour tabloid gossip stories, and encourage reporters to hound a person to death? I don't think so.

May he find peace in another place. If we all look in the mirror, we could all be the change we seek. Forget about policital slogans and partisan promises. It all starts with us, individuals, maybe a village, maybe not. When he said we are the world, I don't he knew how profound that statement would remain. God Bless.
