To turn pieces of fabric into a quilt that will live on for years to keep someone warm on that cold night is just an incredible art.

I couldn't live without my quilting, sewing, embroidery. I sit on my deck in the summer and just hand sew. For some reason sewing outside in nature is just the best medicine in the world for your heart and the soul. On days when I feel anxiety I make a cup of tea, sit, and pick up my quilt and go into my own world, it's better than any medicine out there, I get so attached to that quilt I hate sometimes to give it away!

When the world outside is unkind, it's up to us to get into our own world and make it happy. Some take pills, some have a drink, I quilt.

I too appreciate all that is out there at garage sales. And it upsets me so to see some sell their Mom's needlepoint, quilt, or the worst site for me, is to see someone sell their Mom, or Grandma's worn Bible. I think to myself how many prayers and how many times Mom went to that Bible to pray for you. If that Bible could only talk.

Thanks for a great post Old Soul. I read it fine on my end.
