It hurt me to the core.

I did something sooooooo very nice for this person (had her over for a very nice meal) and 3 days later she literally ruined my 50th birthday because she didn't agree with me on an issue, she verbally said horrible things about me and also physically abused me. I called the police to resolve the situation (which I won't go into) and they asked me if I wanted to press charges. I said "no". In my eyes that was forgiveness. This is a family member of mine which I tried all my life to be nice to, only for her to be rude to me her whole life. I'm sorry, but in this case, I don't ever want to see her again, I tried with her time & time again. One day i kinow i'll have to see her and i plan to say "hi" but that's it. I really pray for her and feel sorry for her, she's a bitter old lady. I'm a Christian and I know God say's "Forgive others or I will not forgive you". Please Lord forgive me of my sins and help me to forgive others". Please everyone, pray for me that I will find peace with this, thanks!!

It's been a while since you posted. Anyway I feel for you and will pray for you. I'm sorry that you were hurt by this family member.
Just do your part per Lord's word, and He will take care of the rest. Love and Peace.

There was an adulterous women who was brought to Jesus by the Pharisees and they asked him since she has committed adultery, she should be stoned to death and they waited for Jesus's reply. Jesus replied whoever has not sinned please throw the first stone and then Jesus bent his head. After sometime Jesus looked up and saw that only the women and he was there. He told her that since no one stoned her, he told here to go but only said go and sin no more

My blood pressure was high, I blamed everyone in my life for everything in my life, I wanted redemption, I wanted justice, I wanted a lot of things, but in the end I found that forgiveness was the only thing that was going to set me free, that was going to relieve the pressure from my shoulders.

I realized this lesson after hearing my now favorite song, the song that changed my life, it's 'Heart of the Matter' by Don Henley. If you don't know it, download it and listen to it. Some lyrics are...

There are people in your life who've come and gone
They let you down, you know they hurt your pride
You better put it all behind you babe; 'cause life goes on
If you keep carryin that anger, it'll eat you up inside, baby.

I've been trying to get down
To the heart of the matter
But my will gets weak
and my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about...
Forgiveness.
Forgiveness.
Even if, even if,
You don't love me anymore.
