I wonder if we knew death were around the corner, if we would waste the gift of life today. 
Also the concept of not worrying about tomorrow, live for today.  If he spent his last moments in fret worrying about death, he would have missed the enjoyment of the strawberry.  (of course then Olive could have eaten it ; ) .<br/><br/>
