But if I understand you correctly, you are trying to decide if you should be with him or wait for the other man? Before you do anything, I would ask if you are really ready to move on to another relationship. If you had abusive relationships before, we tend to repeat our patterns, creating the same situations over and over again.  So maybe before you decide to be with ANYONE, you need to spend some  time alone, working on loving yourself and being better and healthier to yourself.  If you don't, if you don't change old patterns and heal your wounds, you will almost certainly find yourself back in an old, similar, unhealthy situation.
