If you have a passion, follow it, and don't give your fears even an ounce of energy! I am friends with a woman who earned her nursing degree while in her late 50's, and I even know of a man who earned a black belt in his 80's!! I know it sounds like a cliche, but you are never too old to follow your dreams. If you want it and you know you deserve it, nothing can stop you from reaching your goal but you. As for me, I embarked on an entirely new path at 37. Newly divorced, raising 3 teenage boys on my own, I went back to school, and am now at the fledgling beginnings of a whole new, wonderful and exciting career. Looking back I might have been terrified to do something so radical and uncertain, if I hadn't been so very passionate about it. There was never a doubt in my mind that things would work out for me, and slowly but surely, they are. You can do this, and I'm excited to see what life brings to you! (And I'll be 40 before you, so happy 39 and counting to both of us!)
