In some of my articles, I have cited titles of excellent resources. However, the problem with self-help is two-fold. First, most of the time, what a person self-diagnoses is inaccurate. The person looks at a symptom, but cannot appreciate the big picture. Second, it is well documented in the field, that the most important healing aspect of counseling is the relationship between the client and the counselor. The healing nature of love, non-judgment, and acceptance is the balm that heals the wounded heart.<br/><br/>
