Emotions are good, even the ones that feel bad.

Recently I was talking to a good friend of mine and she confided in me that she was very unhappy with herself for an emotional feeling she had been having on the tennis court while playing with her husband. She told me that they have a wonderful relationship and it makes no sense to her at all that she should feel angry while playing with him. She also stated that he never said anything to her to make her angry and that made it even more confusting. The more she chastsed herself for being angry the madder she got. This is a very common misunderstanding of ones emotions and intuition. I asked her if she had ever thought that maybe she had sensed that he was not happy with her play and that perhaps he was a bit angry when they were losing. Maybe he was even directing some of his thoughts to her misplaced balls or mistakes. Her mouth fell open. Yes she had sensed this but beccause he never said it to her openly she denied her own knowing and instead blamed herself for her angry feelings. The anger got stronger as the signal tried harder and harder to let her know what thoughts were being thought by her husband while they were playing tennis. Instead of honoring her intuition she quickly blamed herself for having negative feelings. Emotions can be tricky things but one thing they are never not is wrong. If you have a feeling it is a good idea to step back and take a look at it. Don't be so quick to blame yourself. If you start to learn to honor your intuition it will get better and better and you will be able to use it to your advantage instead of it being a disadvantage. All emotions are good, even the ones that feel bad. Don't worry if you miss one it will only get stronger. That is your clue that you are mis-interpreting something.
