Teh Love Dare, Day 7

Teh Love Dare
Day 7 Dare:
For today's dare, get two sheets of paper. On the first one, spend a few minutes writing out positive things about your spouse. Then do the same with negative things on the second sheet. Place both sheets in a secret place for another day. Tehre is a different purpose and plan for each. At some point during the remainder of the day, pick a positive attribute from the first list and thank your spouse for having this characteristic.

Making these listed weren't hard at all. It took me more time to write down the list of positives than the list of negatives; however, my list of positives was much longer than the negatives. I ended up with 34 positives and only 7 negatives. I was rather surprised that once I had 7 negatives down that I could think of no more to write. I sat and stared at the page and thought about all the anger that those 7 little things caused in me and how stupid it was to let those things begin to out weigh the positives. I'd been spending way too much time focusing on the negatives so that the words and feeling in my head became larger than the positives eventhough the positives outnumbered the negatives roughly 5 positives to every 1 negative. I felt foolish and childish and selfish to have not realized it before. I sent Jacob a text message (as we would not be seeing each other that day) and thanked him for always giving 100% and told him that was one of the things I admired about him. He responded by saying Thanks but what did I do? I told him that it was just what he did in general and that I had just been thinking about all the positives about him and that I was sorry for not appreciating him more and showing him that the positives matter to me and that I did notice them.
