This teen involved in this deliberate act of mischief goes to court next week. An offence like this can carry a fine as high as $300,000.

Perhaps some people just have a tendency to be unkind? Perhaps this incident of a teenager destroying a nest of an innocent Canada goose is something more common in society
today. In this incident it was reported that a young teenager
with a group of other teens had gathered in popular community
near a lake, and the teen first of all scared away the mother
goose and then removed the eggs, then destroyed the nest. The
mother goose was not harmed.

The goose was not being a nuisance in any way, shape or form.
It was just a deliberate act of being unkind. Birds are presently
in the nesting stage. They deserve consideration. But in this case
the young teen possibly decided to show off in front of his friends, demonstrate how mean and nasty he could be.

Sorry, I am not impressed. All the young person showed was
a disregard for mother nature.

This reminds me of an incident years ago. I was walking home
from school with some friends and we came across another
student from our school who was about to throw a cat into a
burning barrel. We managed to talk him out of this and hope
our vocal disapproval left its mark. We found out years later this lad was abused at home, forced to sleep on a bed of nails
(at least that is what he told us).  So perhaps this kind of
abuse has a deeper and darker side.

In he meantime, we have one lonely mother goose without
her young....

Hopefully the court will properly deal with this teen and perhaps make it a condition he study migratory birds and
learn how they live and deserve to co-exist with other species...
such as humans....
