Memories are the things that run through your mind as you grow up and get old and fall in love. Memories of when you were 14 and got really drunk on a whole bottle of rum. Memories of that night when that guy touched you up and your best friend got you home safe. Memories of Alberta and I skipping school and going to the beach. Memories of that first guy you kissed. The first time you looked into his eyes and thought he was the love of your life. The first time you got hurt. Realising he wasn't the one. That the world is a scary and sometimes horrible place, but in the most unexpected places you can find joy. The laugh of a small child as he plays with the free MacDonalds gift he got that lunch time. The joy in the eyes of a puppy as he goes outside in the snow for the first time. I looked up into the sky, not a cloud in sight. I imagined myself just sitting on that bench in summer for eternity. Watching the people I love growing old and dying. I realised that you have to make the most of what you have, enjoy yourself as much as you can, and those good memories will be the ones that keep you going through all the bad times.
