Appreciate how you are feeling during your darkest deepest failure. Consider it a blessing. You need to fail. You need to feel failure. Days of failure are very precious. I call them “learning days”.

I admit it. I’ve been gone for the past 3 months. I have no excuse except that for the past 3 months I have been wallowing in the failure that is my life. I could provide no inspiration to you to make you feel better about failing, because I could provide none for myself. I was deep deep down in the darkest of all corners of failure. And only now I’ve been able to slowly start rising out of that darkness. But I tell you, it’s still dark. Just not as dark.

So what inspiration and words of encouragement do I have for you? This may sound like someone grasping at straws. But sometimes really, that’s all you have – a bunch of straws. And you just have to use what you’ve got. So here’s my straws-

Appreciate how you are feeling during your darkest deepest failure.

Consider it a blessing. Yes, like I said, straws. But truly, life can’t all be a string of successes otherwise you’ll never know you’re succeeding. You need to fail. You need to feel failure. Days of failure are very precious. I call them “learning days”. That is when you are intensely learning about life like you never knew you could. So whether you failed at your marriage (that’s me), your career, your education, your relationship, just remember, you ARE still getting something out of this. Probably more than any other time in your life.

Haven’t you heard that saying by athletes? I think it was Mia Ham? Not sure. But let’s just say it was her. She said, “I learn more from losing than I do from winning.” So there you go, a professional, “successful” person’s opinion.

I know this is yet another short post. But one step at a time right?

If you ever need someone to listen to you and your failures and give you some encouragement or an “uh huh, me too.” I’m always here.
