I'd like to share values I strongly hold dear to my heart.

blog
I am a single male with no kids.  My brother has two daughters and every time I see them interact, I can't help but to feel a little sad that I have no kids to pass on values I learned in my life to.

So I'd like to share them with anyone who happens to read this in the hopes that it may inspire others.  Now I'm not saying I'm perfect, or at the very least a good person but there are certain values I strongly believe in.  These are four values I would like to share:

The first value I firmly believe in is to never put yourself above others because there is always someone out there better than you.  I believe that we all have good qualities but we should never put ourselves above others and make them feel inferior because they might be better than us at something else.  We can, and should, always learn from each other so everyone wins.

The second value I firmly believe in is to lead by example.  To influence someone to make positive changes in their lives by your actions/examples and not having to say a word about it is the ultimate form of humility.

The third is to do the best you can at whatever it is you do; learn it well.  I'm not saying to strive to be a perfectionist but do the best you can and be satisfied that you tried your best.

The fourth ties in to the third and it is that I do not believe in "can't."  When I'm given a task, I accept it and try.  If I get stuck during the process, I don't give up and say, "I can't."  I say, "There's gotta be a way" and start looking for other avenues.  When I ask people for favors and they say, "I can't because (excuse)."  I think to myself, "You really don't have to say you can't because you can.  Just explain the reason and I'll accept it at that.  Imagine if we all said I can instead of I can't.  Wouldn't that be something.
