It's now almost 12 am and up until about 11 pm it has been a "didn't do any good" day.  And you know what?  I felt it.  Kinda blah, kinda muddy day.  I slipped back into the me, me, me syndrome and seemed to forget all about the doing good stuff.  Maybe I should start a twelve step Self Centered Anonymous program!

At 11 pm, the day was saved!  I had been at a friend's birthday party.  Nice house in a sweet old neighborhood.  Great turnout, lots of people.  When we were leaving my friend and I noticed that the people who had parked in front of us had thrown out their paper cups - big ole ugle cups!  We both did the tsk tsk thing.  Cut to the chase - I got out of the car (it's 28 degrees in SC at that time) and picked them up.  You know, really, who else was going to do it?  Neighbors (who would have just complained about the party), my friends who had the party (who had already worked hard enough and would probably be discouraged to find that trash in the morning)?  Now, don't get me wrong.  I'm not going to start a crusade to pick up all the litter (we Americans are really nasty trashers!).  So maybe this was a little bit of doing good today!  (even if by the hair of my chinny chin chin!)
